Cooperation Agreement between the University of Pannonia and ZALAVÍZ to promote the investigation of pharmaceutical residues

The University of Pannonia and ZALAVÍZ. have signed a cooperation agreement within the framework of the project PharmWater – Monitoring pharmaceutical residue pollution in cross-border surface watercourses and its removal through the optimization of modern wastewater treatment technology, implemented under the Interreg Slovenia–Hungary Programme.

The aim of the cooperation is to facilitate the detection of pharmaceutical residues and other micropollutants in various water phases (surface waters, treated wastewater, and raw sewage), and to support the development of advanced wastewater treatment technologies.

The parties have agreed to share their professional experience and research results, to carry out joint sampling and measurement activities, and to work together on the development of monitoring and technological solutions that contribute to achieving the EU’s environmental objectives.

The professional involvement of ZALAVÍZ particularly supports data collection and sampling at the wastewater treatment plants in Lenti and Páka, providing valuable information on the local occurrence and concentration of pharmaceutical residues.

The cooperation lays the foundation for further joint research, scientific publications, and participation in future international research, development, and innovation (R+D+I) projects.
