On 30 May 2025, we participated in the dissemination event of the Savaria Museum, held in the Mill Building of the Vasi Open-Air Museum as part of the INTERREG VI-A Austria–Hungary ATHU-0100028 InnoGuide4CHT project.
The event focused on two experience-based educational programmes: “Foreman – Searching for a Home” and “Master Builder – Honorary Expert of Traditional Construction Techniques”, both showcasing traditional building methods and craftsmanship.
During the event, the organisers presented the objectives, structure, and future role of the programme within the Vasi Open-Air Museum’s educational offer. The day featured presentations on opportunities in digital heritage experiences and on interpreting traditional construction techniques. This was followed by a quiz and practical demonstrations at the programme’s five thematic stations, where we gained insight into traditional processes such as material science, adobe construction, woodworking, acacia timber wall structures, and thatching.
After the professional programme, participants had the opportunity to visit the sites. The event concluded with a sandwich buffet at the Szima Mill.
Taking part offered an excellent opportunity to explore the modern, experience-based interpretation of traditional craftsmanship and to better understand the programme’s significance for museum education and heritage preservation.
